Going to renew my Cedula tommorow at DAS ( Immigration ) and in about a week I’ll be getting out of dodge ( Medellín ), going to head over to Pereira and see what it like down there, if it suits me I’ll rent something and get busy working again.
Testing this new gallery software for managing my images, I need to organize my photos over the last 10 years and get them uploaded.
Got this new netbook because I spilt some Coca Cola on my MacBook keyboard and its on the frtiz, probably cheaper to buy a new one in Canada then have it fixed here, its a lot smaller too..
Gripes…. well a few
- Spanish keyboard, getting more used to it everyday but still slows me down when I’m programming
- The docking port is useless because HP has not released a cable to connect an external monitor so I’m stuck with the 10″ display instead of my 29″ lcd, even if they did release a cable it would not be HDMI like the MacBook.
- The webcam comes with a dark plastic strip in front of it on the inside of the screen ( glitch on the assembly line ) so I watched a YouTube video on how to repair it and did that, cracked open the screen and ripped it out, not the funnest things to do with a new computer but without it I could not use the webcam.
Other then that its tiny, decent speed and great for sticking in the hardcase on the back of my motorbike for travelling, coupled with the 3G modem I can stop at the side of the road and have net access anywhere.
Just got back from Bogotá, drove up on my new Yamaha XT660R, took 5 hours, sure beats the 10 or more in bus. Got my new Colombian visa that makes me legal here for another 3 years. Met some great people at the Platypus Hotel as usual.
